About this exercise
Your CMO asked for 100 leads on a $5,000 budget for the next campaign. Write a prompt for exactly four plain-text lines: "Math:" showing budget divided by the cost per lead, "Verdict:" saying Feasible or Not feasible with the shortfall, "Option 1:" raising the budget to hit 100 leads (with the math), and "Option 2:" lowering the lead target to what the budget buys. Use the most recent cost per lead, each line under 25 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using the best CPL. The AI uses summer's $50 and calls it feasible. Try: Say: "Use the most recent cost per lead ($60)."
- Skipping the options math. The AI says 'increase budget' with no figure. Try: Say: "Show the math in each option."
- Extra lines. The AI adds recommendations beyond the two options. Try: Say: "Exactly four lines."
- Letting markdown through. AI adds bold text and headings by default. Try: Add: "Plain text only, no bold, no headings."
What a strong prompt includes
- Names the four labels
- Uses the latest CPL
- Asks for the shortfall
- Asks for the math in options
- Caps length
