About this exercise
You're a freelance video editor adding a project to your portfolio. Write a prompt for exactly 2 sentences under 45 words: the first says the client type and what you made, and the second gives the one result you're allowed to share. Don't name the client or the product. Plain text, no intro, and no words like stunning, cinematic or award-winning.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Naming the client. The AI uses the name in the notes. Try: Say: "Don't name the client or the product; say 'a regional bank'."
- Using an unapproved result. The AI invents or inflates a result. Try: Say: "Use only the one result I'm allowed to share."
- Hype words. Portfolio copy defaults to 'stunning' and 'cinematic'. Try: Ban the words by name.
- Letting markdown through. AI adds bold text and headings by default. Try: Add: "Plain text only, no bold, no headings."
- Too many sentences. AI keeps going past the length asked for. Try: State the sentence cap and cap each part.
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and often runs past a word limit. Try: Cap each part (for example "each line under 15 words") so the total lands well under the limit.
What a strong prompt includes
- Sets sentence count and length
- Describes the two sentences
- Bans naming the client
- Limits to the allowed result
- Bans hype words
