About this exercise

You run search ads for Warm Crumb, a bakery box subscription. Write a prompt for exactly 5 numbered headlines, each 30 characters or fewer including spaces, each with a different angle. Exactly one headline must include the $24 starter box price, and none may mention shipping, since delivery is local only. Plain text, output only the 5 lines.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Writing headlines that run long. AI ignores character limits unless you give a target. Try: Add: "Each headline 30 characters or fewer; aim for 25."
  • Reusing the free shipping offer. The notes mention free shipping, and AI loves it as a hook. Try: Say: "No mention of shipping or free shipping."
  • Putting the price everywhere. The AI repeats the offer in most headlines. Try: Say: "Exactly one headline includes $24."
  • Wrong number of items. AI adds extra items or drops the numbering. Try: Say the exact count and show the format, like "1. Label: detail".
  • Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and often runs past a word limit. Try: Cap each part (for example "each line under 15 words") so the total lands well under the limit.

What a strong prompt includes

  • Sets the count and numbering
  • States the character limit
  • Pins the price to one headline
  • Bans shipping and superlatives
  • Asks for only the lines
