About this exercise
You're picking a time for the Nov 18 webinar. Write a prompt for a markdown table with columns Slot (ET) | Reached | Share for the three slots, where Reached is the number of registrants for whom the slot falls between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. their local time (inclusive of 9:00, exclusive of 5:00 p.m.), and Share is Reached divided by 1,000 as a percent. End with a line starting "Pick:" naming the slot with the highest share. Under 90 words, no other text.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Choosing the CEO's slot. The AI honors the CEO's preference. Try: Say: "Pick the slot with the highest share; ignore preferences."
- Wrong time zone math. The AI adds when it should subtract. Try: Give the offsets: CT -1, PT -3, UK +5.
- Wrong share base. The AI divides by one region. Try: Say: "Share = Reached / 1,000."
- Letting markdown through. AI adds bold text and headings by default. Try: Add: "Plain text only, no bold, no headings."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and often runs past a word limit. Try: Cap each part (for example "each line under 15 words") so the total lands well under the limit.
What a strong prompt includes
- Names the columns
- Defines local work hours
- Gives the offsets
- Defines share
- Asks for Pick line
