Write a four-question FAQ for a returns policy change
- For Operations and supply chain

- Time about 5 minutes

About this exercise
The returns policy changes April 1 and the floor team has questions. Write a prompt for a FAQ with exactly four question-and-answer pairs, each written as a line starting "Q:" followed by a line starting "A:". Use only the new policy, not the old one. Plain text, under 120 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Mixing in the old policy. The AI mentions the 72-hour rule or the old throw-out rule. Try: Say: "Use only the NEW policy; never mention the old rules."
- Missing a topic. The AI leaves out damaged items or the $500 rule. Try: Name the four topics to cover.
- Wrong pair count. The AI writes five or six pairs or a numbered list. Try: Say: "Exactly 4 pairs, each a Q: line then an A: line."
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold, headings and bullets by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and usually runs long, so a vague "keep it short" lands over the limit. Try: Cap each part instead of the total, for example "each line under 15 words".
What a strong prompt includes
- Gives the Q and A format
- Sets the count
- Uses only the new policy
- Lists topics to cover
- Asks for plain text
