Write an application-received reply with the real timeline
- For Recruiters
- You practice Setting limits and rules
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Write the automatic reply to applicants in plain text, under 70 words. First line exactly: Subject: We received your application. Include the three process stages with their timing from the notes, in one sentence, and say you will email every applicant either way. Do not promise an interview, and do not say how many applicants there are. Last line exactly: Brightwell Recruiting.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Sharing numbers. The AI mentions how many applied. Try: Say: "Do not say how many applicants there are."
- Promising an interview. The AI says 'we look forward to meeting you'. Try: Say: "Do not promise an interview."
- Missing timing. The AI says 'we will be in touch soon'. Try: Say: "Give the stages with their timing and the Dec 11 email."
- Exact lines. The AI writes its own subject and sign-off. Try: Say: "First and last lines exactly as given."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 15 words."
- Markdown. The AI bolds words or adds headings. Try: Say: "Plain text, no bold, no headings."
