About this exercise
Write a short memo for the hiring manager in plain text with exactly these headings on their own lines: Questions both were asked, Questions only one was asked, Why it matters. Under 140 words. List questions by their short name from the notes. Why it matters is two sentences on fairness of comparison, with no view on either candidate. Do not compare candidates' answers or recommend anyone. HR reviews before it is shared.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Comparing answers. The AI mentions Noah liking Carlos's pivots. Try: Say: "Do not compare answers or give opinions."
- Wrong sorting. The AI lists the extra question as asked of both. Try: Say: "Use the logs to place each question with the right candidate."
- Headings. The AI invents sections. Try: Say: "Exactly these three headings in order."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 15 words."
- Markdown. The AI bolds words or adds headings. Try: Say: "Plain text, no bold, no headings."
