Match a resume to screening criteria with quoted evidence
- For Recruiters
- You practice Catching mistakes and made-up facts
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
Check the resume against the four screening criteria and return a table with the header Criterion | Evidence in resume | Found. Evidence is a short quote from the resume (under 15 words) or "None". Found is exactly one of Yes, No, Unclear. Do not infer from names, schools or gaps in dates. Do not rate or recommend the candidate. Plain text. A recruiter reviews all screens; this is a helper only.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Inferring from the gap. The AI comments on the career break. Try: Say: "Do not infer from names, schools or gaps in dates."
- Free-text verdicts. The AI writes 'Likely' or 'Partially'. Try: Say: "Found is exactly Yes, No or Unclear."
- Recommending. The AI ends with a hire/no hire view. Try: Say: "Do not rate or recommend the candidate."
- Header. The AI changes the table. Try: Say: "Header exactly as given, four rows in order."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 15 words."
- Markdown. The AI bolds words or adds headings. Try: Say: "Plain text, no bold, no headings."
