Turn date mismatches into neutral clarifying questions
- For Recruiters
- You practice Setting limits and rules
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Advanced
About this exercise
Compare the resume dates to the application form and write a checklist of neutral clarifying questions to ask the candidate. Plain text. Each line starts with "[ ] ", is one question under 20 words, and names the two dates that differ. At most 4 lines. Do not suggest dishonesty, do not ask about reasons for gaps beyond "Could you clarify the dates?", and do not ask about family, health or age. A recruiter asks; the hiring team decides.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Accusing. The AI asks 'why did you misstate'. Try: Say: "Use neutral wording like 'Could you clarify the dates?'."
- Missing a mismatch. The AI finds only one difference. Try: Say: "Compare every job's dates on the resume and the form."
- Photo or age. The AI mentions how he looks. Try: Say: "Do not mention age, health, family or appearance."
- Format. The AI writes paragraphs. Try: Say: "At most 4 lines, each starting with [ ] ."
- Markdown. The AI bolds words or adds headings. Try: Say: "Plain text, no bold, no headings."
