About this exercise

You're the CRO drafting the revenue section of the board pack. Start with the exact line "DRAFT - for CFO review before the board pack". Then give four labeled lines, Ending ARR, Net new ARR, Gross churn and NRR, each showing its math, and finish with one "Watch:" line naming the single biggest risk in the notes. Use Finance's corrected numbers. Plain text, under 110 words.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Using the dashboard numbers. The AI copies the 11.5 ending ARR from the table and misses Finance's correction. Try: Add: "Use the Oct 9 Finance correction: churn is 0.4."
  • Not showing the math. The AI states ARR and NRR without the working, so the CFO can't check it. Try: Add: "Show the math on each line, like 10.0 + 1.2 + 0.6 - 0.4 = $11.4M."
  • Presenting a draft as final. The AI writes board copy as if it's approved. Try: Add: "First line exactly: DRAFT - for CFO review before the board pack."
  • No single risk. The AI lists every number in the notes as a risk or skips risks entirely. Try: Add: "End with one Watch: line naming the single biggest risk."
  • Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and adds commentary under each number. Try: Cap each line: "each line under 18 words."
