About this exercise
You coach Maya Chen tomorrow in your 1:1. Draft what you'll say as three labeled lines: "Strength:" for her highest-scoring area, "Focus:" for her lowest-scoring area, and "Practice:" with one specific thing to try on her next call. Talk to Maya directly in a warm, plain tone, and don't give her an overall score or a rating. Plain text, under 90 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Following the self-review. The AI takes Maya's word that the demo was weakest and coaches the wrong thing. Try: Add: "Focus on her lowest-scored area on the scorecard, not her self-review."
- Vague advice. The AI says "work on closing" instead of one thing she can do on the next call. Try: Add: "Practice: one specific action for her next call."
- Writing about her, not to her. The AI writes a third-person report with her overall score in it. Try: Add: "Speak to Maya as you. Don't mention any overall score or rating."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Coaching notes often run 300 words. Try: Cap each line: "each line under 25 words."
- Getting markdown. The AI bolds the labels and adds a heading. Try: Add: "Plain text, no bold."
What a strong prompt includes
