Explain a sales cycle slowdown to a new CRO in three sentences
- For Managers and team leads
- You practice Saying who it's for
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Priya just started as CRO and asked why deals are taking longer. Write her exactly 3 sentences: the first starts with "Priya," and gives the total median cycle this quarter versus last, with the difference in days; the second names the stage that grew the most and by how many days; the third gives one possible reason from the notes, worded as possible, not proven. Plain text.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Confusing longest with fastest-growing. The AI sees Proposal is the longest stage and calls it the problem. Try: Add: "Name the stage with the biggest increase from Q2 to Q3."
- Stating a cause as fact. The AI connects the questionnaire to the slowdown and says it caused it. Try: Add: "Don't claim a cause; you can say what might be a factor."
- No sentence limit. The AI writes a long analysis with bullets for a new exec. Try: Add: "Exactly 3 sentences, plain text."
- No set opener. The AI opens with a greeting or a summary heading. Try: Add: "Start with: Priya, the median cycle..."
What a strong prompt includes
