Write a 4-line forecast note for the CRO with the math
- For Revenue operations
- You practice Saying who it's for
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
Write the Monday forecast note for the CRO in plain text, exactly 4 numbered lines: 1. Commit total, 2. Best case total (commit plus best-case deals), 3. Gap to the $1.2M quarterly target, 4. One risk to watch. Show the addition in lines 1 to 3 like "410 + 235 = $645K". Count only deals closing this quarter and use the corrected amounts.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using the CRM amount. The AI uses 140 for Birch Labs, the stale figure. Try: Add: "Use the corrected amounts from Friday."
- Counting next-year deals. The AI includes Cardinal Foods and Granite Co with Q4 deals. Try: Add: "Count only deals closing Oct 1 to Dec 31 2026."
- Gap without closed won. The AI measures the gap to commit only. Try: Add: "Gap = target minus closed won plus commit; show the math."
- Essay format. The AI writes headers and paragraphs. Try: Add: "Exactly 4 numbered lines, plain text."
What a strong prompt includes
- Lists the four lines
- Asks for the math
