About this exercise
Calculate how much new pipeline the team must create to close the remaining gap. Use exactly 5 numbered lines: 1. Remaining target, 2. Expected closes from existing pipeline, 3. Gap to fill, 4. New pipeline needed, 5. Verdict (one of On track, At risk or Off track). Show the working inside each of lines 1 to 4, like "1,500 - 900 = $600K". Use the Q4 stage-to-close rates, not the annual average. Plain text.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using annual-average rates. The AI picks the 50% and 25% rates. Try: Add: "Use the Q4 close rates, not the annual average."
- Skipping the working. The AI states results without math. Try: Add: "Show the working in each line."
- Verdict without the rule. The AI gives a gut feeling like 'At risk'. Try: Add: "Apply the verdict rule to the run rate."
- Free-form answer. The AI writes tables and paragraphs. Try: Add: "Exactly 5 numbered lines, plain text."
What a strong prompt includes
- Lists the five lines
- Asks for working
- Chooses the right rates
- Fixes the verdict labels
