About this exercise
Check each deal against the SPIFF rules and write a markdown table with columns Rep | Deal | Eligible | Reason, one row per deal in the order listed. Eligible is Yes or No. For No, Reason is the first rule the deal fails, checking the rules in order (R1 to R3), written like R2 and 5 words or fewer. Under the table add one line exactly: "Finance confirms all payouts." No bold.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using the draft rules. The AI makes Ben eligible and accepts Dec 20. Try: Add: "Use the final rules."
- Excluding Dec 18. The AI marks Fay ineligible. Try: Add: "The window is inclusive of Nov 9 and Dec 18."
- Missing the final line. The AI adds payout advice. Try: Add: "End with exactly: Finance confirms all payouts."
- Bold and wordy reasons. The AI bolds and writes sentences. Try: Add: "Reason is the rule number only; no bold."
What a strong prompt includes
- Names the columns
- States first failing rule
