Reply to a vague request by asking three things
- For Revenue operations
- You practice Saying who it's for
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
A rep sent a vague request and you need to answer without doing guesswork. Write a short plain-text email to Jess: exactly 3 numbered questions (account IDs, which field is wrong, and the date she needs it), one sentence at the top saying you will start within 1 business day of getting them, no apology, under 70 words, signed RevOps.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Apologizing and promising. The AI says 'Sorry about that, I'll fix it right away'. Try: Add: "No apology, and don't promise changes; ownership changes need manager approval."
- Asking too much or too little. The AI asks five open questions or just 'what's wrong?'. Try: Add: "Ask exactly 3 numbered questions: account IDs, which field, needed-by date."
- Missing the timing promise. The AI says 'as soon as possible'. Try: Add: "Open with: I'll start within 1 business day of getting these."
- Formatting. The AI adds bold text and long paragraphs. Try: Add: "Plain text, under 70 words."
