Write follow-up questions only for the vague questionnaire answers

About this exercise
A vendor returned a questionnaire and you need follow-ups. Write a prompt for exactly five numbered questions, one for each answer that is vague, in questionnaire order. Start each like "1. Q2: ..." with the question number it relates to, end each with a question mark, keep each under 22 words, and keep the tone neutral. No intro or closing. Under 150 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Asking about every answer. AI writes a question for all eight answers. Try: Say: "Only for vague answers; skip answers that are already specific."
- Dropping the Q prefix. AI numbers lines but does not reference the question. Try: Show the format: "1. Q2: question text?"
- Accusing tone. AI writes 'Why have you failed to...'. Try: Say: "Neutral tone, no judgments about the vendor."
- Wrong number of items. AI adds extra items or drops the numbers. Try: Say "exactly N items, formatted like 1. text".
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and usually runs long, so a vague "keep it short" lands over the limit. Try: Cap each part instead of the total, for example "each line under 15 words".
What a strong prompt includes
- Sets the count
- Gives line format
- Targets vague answers
- Neutral tone
- Caps length
