Put three audit findings in a condition-criteria-cause-effect table
- For Compliance and risk
- You practice Setting limits and rules
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
Write a prompt for a markdown table with columns Condition | Criteria | Cause | Effect and one row per finding, in the order of the notes, under 170 words. Criteria must come from the policy extract. Where the notes don't state a cause or an effect, the cell says exactly "Not stated". Add nothing after the table.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Guessing causes. AI fills Cause with 'insufficient oversight' for every row. Try: Say: "Cause and Effect only if stated; otherwise exactly 'Not stated'."
- Wrong criteria. AI cites a general best practice rather than the policy extract. Try: Say: "Criteria: the policy figure that applies."
- Wrong columns. AI uses its own column names. Try: Say: "Columns exactly: Condition | Criteria | Cause | Effect."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and usually runs long, so a vague "keep it short" lands over the limit. Try: Cap each part instead of the total, for example "each line under 15 words".
