Tier five vendors using written criteria with the numbers shown
- For Compliance and risk
- You practice Keeping the AI to your sources

About this exercise
Apply the tiering criteria to five vendors. Write a prompt for a markdown table Vendor | Tier | Reason, one row per vendor in the order listed, under 130 words, no bold or headings. Reason shows the numbers, like "4,200 records, no payment access". Tier is only Tier 1, Tier 2 or Tier 3. End with the line "Tiers are proposed; the risk owner confirms." Use the intake sheet figures, adding any updates.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Missing the update. AI uses 9,800 and tiers Cobalt as Tier 2. Try: Say: "Apply the 3 Nov update: 9,800 + 400 = 10,200."
- Ignoring the payment rule. AI tiers Pellet Pay as Tier 2 on record count. Try: Say: "Ability to initiate refunds makes it Tier 1."
- Presented as final. AI states tiers as decided. Try: Say: "Last line exactly: Tiers are proposed; the risk owner confirms."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and usually runs long, so a vague "keep it short" lands over the limit. Try: Cap each part instead of the total, for example "each line under 15 words".
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold tiers and headings by default. Try: Say "no bold, no headings".
