- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
Write an email to your champion, Hana, to prepare her for presenting to the CFO. Line 1 must be exactly "Subject: Three points for Thursday". Start with "Hi Hana,". Give exactly 3 numbered points she should make, each using a fact from the notes (with the number), plus one line starting "Expect this question:" with the CFO's likely question and a suggested answer from the notes. Plain text under 120 words. Sign off "Ravi". No promises of savings.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Promising savings or ROI. The AI invents payback numbers. Try: Add: "No promised savings or ROI numbers."
- Missing the question line. The AI omits the likely question. Try: Add: "Include a line starting Expect this question:."
- Presenting go-live as certain. The AI says live Jan 11. Try: Add: "Go-live is a target and not guaranteed."
- Wrong subject or length. The AI writes a long email. Try: Add: "Exact subject; exactly 3 numbered points; under 120 words."
What a strong prompt includes
- Sets subject and opener
- Fixes 3 numbered points with numbers
- Adds the question line
- Bans savings promises
- Notes the target caveat
