About this exercise
The customer returned a contract with changes. Write a checklist of exactly 5 questions for the legal team, each line starting with "- [ ]" and citing the clause number. Each question is under 25 words and asks counsel to review or confirm; none states what the clause means legally or recommends accepting or rejecting it. Plain text.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Giving legal opinions. The AI says 'a 24-month cap is standard'. Try: Add: "Ask counsel; don't state what a clause means."
- Repeating the rep's opinion. The AI says clause 12.1 is risky. Try: Add: "Don't repeat opinions about risk."
- Including unchanged clauses. The AI adds clause 3.1. Try: Add: "Only the changed clauses."
- Wrong format. The AI writes a memo. Try: Add: "Exactly 5 lines starting - [ ] with the clause number."
What a strong prompt includes
- Uses the checkbox format
- Cites clause numbers
- Asks for review not conclusions
- Covers only changes
- Bans recommendations
