- For Small business owners
- You practice Saying who it's for
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Rewrite the estimate for the homeowner, Mrs. Ortega, as exactly 4 plain-text lines starting Work:, What it includes:, Price:, What could change it:. No trade jargon (do not use the words flashing, substrate, sheathing or underlayment). Under 100 words. Show the price as a sum of the two items. The change-order warning must be in What could change it.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using trade words. The AI repeats sheathing and underlayment. Try: Add: "No trade jargon; describe in plain words."
- Skipping the change warning. The AI omits the $95 sheet cost. Try: Add: "What could change it must mention the $95 per sheet and her approval."
- Price without the sum. The AI gives the total alone. Try: Add: "Show the price as a sum of the two items."
- Inventing a warranty. The AI adds a warranty claim. Try: Add: "Use only what the estimate says."
What a strong prompt includes
- Lists the four labels
- Bans jargon
- Shows the sum
- Includes the change-order warning
