Write two event follow-ups: one for hot leads and one for warm leads
- For Sales and customer success
- You practice Saying who it's for
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
Write two follow-up emails after a trade show, labeled "Hot:" and "Warm:". Each has its own subject line (starting "Subject:") and is plain text under 45 words. Hot (asked for a demo at the booth) offers two specific demo times from the notes; Warm (just scanned a badge) offers one resource and no call. Neither may claim results, mention that you met at a "great" event, or use urgency words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Offering calls to warm leads. The AI asks for a meeting. Try: Add: "Warm: resource only, no call."
- Banned words and claims. The AI writes 'great event' and savings. Try: Add: "No results claims or banned words."
- Wrong demo times. The AI invents times. Try: Add: "Use the two real slots."
- Missing labels or subjects. The AI merges the emails. Try: Add: "Label Hot: and Warm:, each with Subject:."
What a strong prompt includes
- Uses the two labels
- Adds subject lines
- Offers the demo times
- Uses the placeholder
- Bans claims and words
