About this exercise
Write a payment reminder email to a client whose invoice is 14 days late. Plain text, under 90 words, subject line first. Include the invoice number, the amount, the original due date and the late fee exactly as the contract states, with the total shown as a sum. Be firm but friendly, with no threats of legal action. Ask for payment by Nov 20.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Skipping the late fee math. The AI mentions a late fee without the numbers or leaves it out. Try: Add: "Show the fee and total as a sum."
- Threatening tone. The AI adds 'further action' language. Try: Add: "Firm but friendly; no threats of legal action or collections."
- Missing details. The AI leaves out the invoice number or the due date. Try: Add: "Include invoice number, amount and original due date."
- Too long. The AI writes a long formatted email. Try: Add: "Plain text under 90 words."
