About this exercise
Summarize the negotiation for your manager. Write a markdown table with columns Round, We gave, We got for rounds where we made a concession, with the discount math in Round 1 (like "8% off $96,000 = $7,680"). Then exactly two lines: "Gave without getting:" naming the round and item, and "Declined:" naming what we refused. Use "Nothing" in We got where we received nothing. Under 120 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Listing the declined round. The AI adds Round 4 to the table. Try: Add: "Table rows only for rounds where we made a concession."
- Inventing a return. The AI says we got goodwill for the Net 45 concession. Try: Add: "Use Nothing where we received nothing."
- Skipping the math. The AI says 'about 8% off' without the dollars. Try: Add: "Round 1: show 8% off $96,000 = $7,680."
- Extra advice. The AI recommends a final price. Try: Add: "Table plus two lines only, under 120 words."
What a strong prompt includes
- Names the columns
- Shows math
- Uses Nothing
