Rewrite one pitch for a CFO and an IT director
- For Sales and customer success
- You practice Saying who it's for
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
Rewrite the base email for two readers. Write exactly two plain-text blocks starting "For the CFO:" and "For the IT Director:", each under 40 words. Use only facts from the notes. The CFO block uses a figure with its source; the IT block has no money figures. Both end by asking for a 15-minute call. Under 100 words in total.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Inventing a result. The AI writes 'cut waste by 20 percent'. Try: Add: "No results or guarantees; use only the facts listed."
- Same message twice. The AI changes a few words but pitches both the same way. Try: Add: "CFO block: write-offs figure with its source. IT block: SOC 2 and SAP, no money figures."
- Claiming Oracle support. The AI says it integrates with all major ERPs. Try: Add: "Mention only the SAP integration; do not claim Oracle."
- Wrong layout or length. The AI adds subject lines and long paragraphs. Try: Add: "Two plain-text blocks, each under 40 words, under 100 words total."
What a strong prompt includes
- Names the two blocks
- Uses sourced figure
- Tailors the IT block
- Bans invented claims
- Sets the ask
