About this exercise

Build a markdown table for the Pioneer Logistics proposal with columns Year, Seats, Rate per seat per month, Annual (write rates like $30). Add a Total row. Then write exactly two more lines: "Implementation: $5,000 one time, not in total" and "Average per year: [Total divided by 3]". Use the order form numbers, not the old summary. No other text, under 75 words.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Using the old summary. The AI quotes the superseded flat-rate total. Try: Add: "Use the order form numbers, not the old August summary."
  • Adding the fee into the total. The AI folds the implementation fee into the recurring total. Try: Add: "Implementation is not part of the Total; put it on its own line."
  • Skipping the annual math. The AI shows monthly figures or rounds the totals. Try: Add: "Annual = seats x rate x 12; show exact dollars and name the columns exactly."
  • Extra commentary. The AI adds paragraphs about the deal. Try: Add: "Table, Implementation line and Average line only, under 75 words."

What a strong prompt includes

  • Names the columns
  • Excludes the one-time fee
  • Gives the formula
  • Ignores the old summary
  • Adds the average line
