Brief an AE on an SDR's lead, including the correction
- For Sales and customer success
- You practice Saying who it's for
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
Omar, an AE, is taking over a lead from SDR Tess. Write exactly four plain-text lines for Omar starting Why now:, Pain (their words):, Correct this:, Next step:. Use only a direct quote from the notes for the pain. The SDR said something wrong on the call; the Correct this line must state what was said and the right fact from the current price sheet. Under 90 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Passing along the wrong price. The AI repeats the $20 figure as if it were fact. Try: Add: "Correct this: state what Tess said and the right current price."
- Paraphrasing the pain. The AI summarizes instead of quoting Lena. Try: Add: "Pain (their words) is a direct quote from the notes."
- Wrong structure. The AI writes a long handoff memo. Try: Add: "Exactly four plain-text lines with those labels."
- Too long. The AI adds background and advice. Try: Add: "Under 90 words."
What a strong prompt includes

- Corrects the price
