- For Sales and customer success
- You practice Saying who it's for
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
Write a short email to Kareem Hosseini, the IT director, whom your champion Fiona Lowe introduced. It must say that Fiona suggested reaching out, ask for 20 minutes to hear his security requirements (not to pitch), and offer two time slots from the notes. Do not mention price or the proposal. Plain text, subject line first, under 90 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Mentioning the proposal. The AI says 'attached is the proposal'. Try: Add: "Do not mention price or the proposal."
- Pitching in a listening email. The AI lists product benefits. Try: Add: "The goal is to hear his requirements, not pitch."
- Vague meeting request. The AI says 'let me know when you're free'. Try: Add: "Offer two specific times from the notes, with ET."
- Long email. The AI writes a long intro and bold. Try: Add: "Plain text, under 90 words."
What a strong prompt includes
