Make exponent rule cards with one example each
Practice: Showing an example of what you want. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
Your Algebra 1 test has exponent rules you keep mixing up. Make exactly 5 numbered cards in the form 'Rule name: rule | example', each under 20 words, plain text, nothing else. Use only the rules in your notes, with the example numbers worked out correctly, and Mr. Novak's correction about the product rule.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Not saying how many cards. The AI picks its own number, and it usually picks more cards than you need. Try: Be exact: "Exactly 5 numbered cards."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total and it often lands 20% over. Try: Cap each card: "each under 18 words."
- Not showing the card shape. The AI writes a long lesson with several examples per rule. Try: Show one: "Quotient rule: a^m / a^n = a^(m-n) | 5^6 / 5^2 = 5^4".
- Missing the correction. Your wrong product rule is still in your notes. Try: Add: "Product rule adds exponents, per Mr. Novak."
- Adding next unit. The AI may add fractional exponents. Try: Add: "Only the 5 rules in my notes."
What a strong prompt includes
