Make SAT punctuation rule cards from your tutor's notes
Practice: Showing an example of what you want. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
The SAT Reading and Writing section keeps testing punctuation you get wrong. Make exactly 5 numbered rule cards, each one line in the form 'Mark: rule | example', each under 25 words, plain text. Cover the semicolon and colon your tutor flagged, use only your tutor's notes, and follow her correction about commas.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Not saying how many cards. The AI picks its own number, and it usually picks more cards than you need. Try: Be exact: "Exactly 5 numbered cards."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total and it often lands 20% over. Try: Cap each card: "each card under 20 words."
- Not showing the card shape. The AI writes a long grammar guide with headings and several examples per rule. Try: Show one: "Semicolon: joins two related sentences | The bus was late; we missed class."
- Missing the correction. Your wrong comma rule is still in your notes, right next to the fix. Try: Add: "Use Ms. Adeyemi's correction about commas."
- Letting in outside rules. The AI adds apostrophes, quotation marks and style tips you didn't cover. Try: Add: "Use only the rules in my tutor's notes."
What a strong prompt includes
- Says how many cards
- Names the flagged marks
- Shows the card shape
- Uses the correction
- Says to use only the material
