Turn an email's relative dates into four calendar lines
- For Customer success managers
- You practice Setting limits and rules
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Turn the email into exactly 4 numbered lines like "1. Fri Nov 13 - send contract back", in date order, soonest first. Treat "next Tuesday" as the Tuesday of next week, and use the calendar. Include the weekday and the date on every line. Plain text, nothing else.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Reading next Tuesday as Nov 10. The AI picks the nearest Tuesday. Try: Say: "Next Tuesday means the Tuesday of next week."
- Listing the holiday. The AI adds Nov 26 as an event. Try: Say: "Only the four things she asked for."
- Skipping the weekday. The AI writes only dates. Try: Say: "Include the weekday and the date on every line."
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
- Leaving the item count open. The AI adds or drops items to feel complete. Try: Say "exactly N numbered lines, nothing else".
What a strong prompt includes
