About this exercise

Write exactly 3 numbered questions for our executive to ask the customer's sponsor. Each begins with What, How or Which, ends with "?" and is followed by "Why:" and a reason under 12 words. Each question must use one fact from the notes. No yes/no questions and nothing about renewal or price. Plain text.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Asking yes/no questions. The AI writes "Are you happy with...?". Try: Say: "Start each question with What, How or Which."
  • Sneaking in the renewal. The AI follows the AE's aim. Try: Say: "Nothing about renewal or price."
  • Generic questions. The AI asks questions that fit any account. Try: Say: "Each question must use one fact from the notes."
  • Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
  • Leaving the item count open. The AI adds or drops items to feel complete. Try: Say "exactly N numbered lines, nothing else".
  • Trusting the AI to count words. The AI runs long and cannot count its own words. Try: Cap each part ("each line under 12 words") and add "under N words in total".

What a strong prompt includes

  • Fixes the question count
  • Sets open question starters
  • Requires a fact in each
  • Excludes renewal and price
  • Asks for plain text
  • Sets the exact item count
  • Sets a word cap
