About this exercise

Check the handoff form against the order form and the required-field list. Output 8 numbered lines, one per required field in list order, formatted "1. Field: Present", "Missing" or "Conflict" (for a conflict add a dash and the two values). Then a last unnumbered line: "Ready for kickoff: No" if any field is Missing or Conflict, otherwise "Yes". Plain text.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Marking a conflict as present. The AI sees a value on the form and calls it Present. Try: Say: "Compare to the order form; a disagreement is Conflict and shows both values."
  • Treating blank as present. The AI skips fields that were not discussed. Try: Say: "No value means Missing."
  • Skipping the verdict line. The AI ends with commentary instead of a clear Yes or No. Try: Say: "Last line exactly: Ready for kickoff: No if any field is Missing or Conflict."
  • Changing the line order or count. The AI groups fields or adds commentary. Try: Say: "Exactly 8 numbered lines in list order, then one last line."
  • Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".

What a strong prompt includes

  • Fixes the three labels
  • Compares to the order form
  • Asks for both values on conflicts
  • Gives the last line
  • Asks for plain text
  • Sets the exact item count
