About this exercise

Work out the plan in four labeled lines: "Training:" (start and end, with weekdays), "Earliest go-live:", "Go-live:" and "Freeze check:". Apply every rule below. Use the calendar given. Plain text, under 90 words.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Starting training on a holiday. The AI starts Nov 26 or counts the holidays. Try: Say: "Business days exclude weekends and Nov 26-27."
  • Ignoring the Tue/Wed rule. The AI picks Dec 10 as the go-live. Try: Say: "Go-live must be a Tuesday or Wednesday; Dec 10 is only the earliest."
  • Following the VP's wish. The AI moves go-live before Dec 9. Try: Say: "Apply every rule; ignore wishes."
  • Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
  • Trusting the AI to count words. The AI runs long and cannot count its own words. Try: Cap each part ("each line under 12 words") and add "under N words in total".
  • Leaving a requirement unstated. The AI follows its own defaults unless the prompt spells this out. Try: State it plainly in your prompt: the output has four lines starting 'Training:', 'Earliest go-live:', 'Go-live:' and 'Freeze check:'.

What a strong prompt includes
