Plan a four-email digital sequence for low-touch accounts

  • For Customer success managers
  • You practice Asking for a format you can use
  • Time about 5 minutes
  • Level Intermediate

About this exercise

Build a plain-text table with the header row exactly "Day | Subject | Asset | Goal" and four rows for Day 1, Day 7, Day 21 and Day 45. Each subject is 6 words or fewer with no urgency words (no "now", "hurry", "last chance"). Use each of the four assets exactly once, with the webinar on Day 45. Goal is 8 words or fewer. Plain text, nothing else.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Urgency in subjects. The AI uses "Act now" or "Don't miss out". Try: Say: "No urgency words in subjects."
  • Repeating or skipping an asset. The AI uses the setup guide twice. Try: Say: "Use each of the four assets exactly once, webinar on Day 45."
  • Wrong header. The AI adds columns such as Owner. Try: Say: "Header row exactly: Day | Subject | Asset | Goal."
  • Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
  • Trusting the AI to count words. The AI runs long and cannot count its own words. Try: Cap each part ("each line under 12 words") and add "under N words in total".

What a strong prompt includes

  • Gives the header
  • One asset each
  • Subject rules
  • Goal length
  • Asks for plain text
  • Sets a word cap
