About this exercise

Nia works in Eastern time (ET). Build a plain-text table with the header row exactly "Day | Time (ET) | Customer | Purpose" and one row per meeting, in calendar order. Convert every Pacific time (PT) to ET by adding 3 hours, write times like 2:30pm, and use the latest time when one was changed. Under 130 words, no other words.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Leaving PT times unconverted. The AI copies each time as written. Try: Say: "Convert PT to ET by adding 3 hours."
  • Using the old Orion time. The AI misses the Nov 12 update. Try: Say: "Use the latest time when one was changed."
  • Sorting by customer or invite order. The AI keeps the input order or groups by customer. Try: Say: "Calendar order by day, then ET time."
  • Changing the header. The AI adds a Duration column or renames headers. Try: Say: "Header row exactly: Day | Time (ET) | Customer | Purpose".
  • Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
  • Trusting the AI to count words. The AI runs long and cannot count its own words. Try: Cap each part ("each line under 12 words") and add "under N words in total".

What a strong prompt includes

  • Gives the exact header
  • Converts the time zone
  • Says latest time wins
  • Asks for calendar order
  • Asks for plain text
  • Sets a word cap
