About this exercise

Build a plain-text table with the header row exactly "Role | Contact | Days since touch | Gap?" and one row per required role in the order listed. A role is a gap ("Yes") if there is no contact or the last touch was 60 days ago or more (60 counts); otherwise "No". Only touches by CS count (support-team replies do not). Use the day counts given. After the table add one line "Gaps: N" with the number of gaps.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Using the support touch. The AI counts the Sep 7 ticket reply as our touch. Try: Say: "Only touches by CS count; use Aug 20 for Tomas."
  • Keeping the departed contact. The AI lists Lucia Vance as the finance contact. Try: Say: "No contact for a role if the person left."
  • Wrong header or order. The AI re-sorts roles or renames columns. Try: Say: "Header exactly ...; roles in the order listed."
  • Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
  • Trusting the AI to count words. The AI runs long and cannot count its own words. Try: Cap each part ("each line under 12 words") and add "under N words in total".

What a strong prompt includes

  • Gives the exact header
  • States the 60-day rule
  • Excludes support touches
  • Asks for the gaps line
  • Asks for plain text
  • Sets a word cap
