- You practice Catching mistakes and made-up facts
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
Write three lines starting "Responses counted:", "Average:" and "Satisfied (4-5):". Count each respondent once (a duplicate submission counts once). Average is to one decimal. Satisfied shows the count, the total and the whole-number percent, like "N of M (P%)". Plain text, under 40 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Counting the duplicate. The AI uses all rows in the export. Try: Say: "Count each respondent once; remove the duplicate."
- Wrong total. The AI divides 35 by 10 or 39 by 9. Try: Say: "Divide the total by the number of people counted."
- Skipping the format. The AI writes a paragraph. Try: Say: "Three lines starting with these labels."
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
- Trusting the AI to count words. The AI runs long and cannot count its own words. Try: Cap each part ("each line under 12 words") and add "under N words in total".
