About this exercise
A pie chart in the marketing deck labels four channels with percents, and you suspect they don't add up. Write exactly 4 plain-text lines, one per slice, in the form 'Email: Right - 90 / 200 = 45%' or 'Social: Wrong - 60 / 200 = 30%, chart says 35%'. Then a last line 'Chart total:' giving what the chart's labels add up to. Under 70 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Not recomputing. The AI says the chart 'looks reasonable' without dividing the counts. Try: Add: "For each slice write count / 200 = X%."
- Missing the wrong label. The AI doesn't compare to what the chart says. Try: Add: "If wrong, write 'chart says 35%'."
- Skipping the total. The AI never notes that the labels sum to 105%. Try: Add: "Last line: Chart total: 45 + 35 + 15 + 10 = 105%."
- Leaving the format to chance. The AI picks its own length and layout unless told the exact shape. Try: Add: "Plain text, no bold or headings."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example "each line under 15 words."
What a strong prompt includes
