Sort ad feedback into keep, change and discuss for a designer
- For Designers
- You practice Saying who it's for
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
Six people commented on a draft ad, and your designer, Noor, needs a clear list. Write a prompt for plain text with three headings on their own lines ("Keep:", "Change:", "Discuss:") and dash bullets under them, at most 5 bullets in total, each under 12 words. Put conflicting comments under Discuss, and leave out requests that can't be done yet. Under 80 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Picking a side on the background. The AI keeps blue or lightens it instead of flagging the conflict. Try: Add: "Conflicting comments go under Discuss, naming who disagrees."
- Including the price badge. The AI lists every request. Try: Add: "Leave out requests that can't be done yet."
- Too many bullets. The AI gives one bullet per comment, with context. Try: Say: "At most 5 bullets in total, each under 12 words."
- Letting markdown through. AI adds bold text and headings by default. Try: Add: "Plain text only, no bold, no headings."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and often runs past a word limit. Try: Cap each part (for example "each line under 15 words") so the total lands well under the limit.
What a strong prompt includes
- Names Noor as the reader
- Gives the three headings
- Puts conflicts under Discuss
- Drops what can't be done
- Caps bullets and words
