About this exercise
Your lead scoring rules award points and a lead becomes an MQL at 40 points or more. Write a prompt for a markdown table with columns Lead | Points math | Total | MQL? for all four leads, where Points math shows each added or subtracted amount (like 20 + 10 - 10) and MQL? is Yes only at 40 or more. End with a line "MQLs:" listing the names. Under 100 words, no other text.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Counting each pricing visit. The AI adds +20 per visit. Try: Say: "Pricing page counts once, however many visits."
- Flagging Dev anyway. The AI follows the sales team's request. Try: Say: "Apply only the rules."
- Missing the free-address penalty. The AI forgets the -10. Try: Say: "Show each added or subtracted amount."
- Letting markdown through. AI adds bold text and headings by default. Try: Add: "Plain text only, no bold, no headings."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and often runs past a word limit. Try: Cap each part (for example "each line under 15 words") so the total lands well under the limit.
What a strong prompt includes
- Names the table columns
- Shows the points math
- Counts the pricing page once
- Applies the threshold
- Gives the MQL list line
