About this exercise
You're auditing page titles on the Hearthside Stoves site. Write a prompt for a markdown table with columns Page | Issue for all six pages, where Issue is "Duplicate" if another page has exactly the same title, "Too long" if the character count shown is over 60, and "OK" otherwise. End with a line starting "Issues:" like "Issues: 2 of 6". Do not rewrite any titles. Under 70 words, no other text.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Rewriting titles. The AI offers new titles for the broken pages. Try: Say: "Do not rewrite any titles."
- Flagging only the second duplicate. The AI marks /gas-stoves but not /wood-stoves. Try: Say: "Mark both pages that share a title as Duplicate."
- Wrong table shape. The AI adds extra columns. Try: Name the two columns.
- Letting markdown through. AI adds bold text and headings by default. Try: Add: "Plain text only, no bold, no headings."
What a strong prompt includes
- Names the columns
- Defines the three issues
- Uses the character counts shown
- Gives the final line
- Bans rewrites
