About this exercise
Write a prompt for a markdown table with columns Vendor, Math and Score, then one final line starting "Result:". Math shows weight x score for price, quality and delivery added together, using the revised weights. Round scores to one decimal. If the top two are tied, the Result line is exactly "Result: A and B tied at 4.0 - committee decides" (using the tied vendors and score); do not pick a winner. Under 100 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using the old weights. The AI uses 50/30/20 because they were listed first. Try: Say: "Use the revised weights: price 40%, quality 40%, delivery 20%."
- Picking a winner in a tie. The AI chooses one vendor. Try: Say: "If the top two are tied, say so and say the committee decides."
- No table. The AI writes prose. Try: Name the columns Vendor, Math and Score.
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and usually runs long, so a vague "keep it short" lands over the limit. Try: Cap each part instead of the total, for example "each line under 15 words".
What a strong prompt includes
- Gives the revised weights
- Asks for math per vendor
- Handles a tie
- Names the table columns
- Sets a length limit
