About this exercise
Write a prompt for a markdown table with columns Pair, Match reason and Action, one row for each possible duplicate pair. The Action column says only Review, plus what to confirm. Never say merge, delete or deactivate; AP decides. Show tax ID differences exactly. Under 160 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Recommending a merge. The AI says to merge V-101 and V-214. Try: Say: "Action starts with Review; never say merge, delete or deactivate."
- Treating similar names as proof. The AI declares V-301 and V-302 duplicates. Try: Say: "Quote the tax IDs and say what differs."
- Listing every vendor. The AI includes V-330 with no match. Try: Say: "One row per possible pair; leave out vendors with no match."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and usually runs long, so a vague "keep it short" lands over the limit. Try: Cap each part instead of the total, for example "each line under 15 words".

- Leaves out non-matches
- Sets a length limit
