- For Legal teams
- You practice Saying who it's for
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
Write a short email to sales lead Dana Whitfield explaining the three changes in the supplier's redline in plain words. Include a Subject line and start the body with "Hi Dana,". One sentence per change, with the exact numbers. Do not recommend accepting or rejecting, and do not say what the law requires. The last line must be exactly: Next step: Legal reviews these before we reply. Under 120 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Answering is-it-normal. The AI tells Dana it is normal or fine. Try: Say: "Do not recommend accepting or rejecting or call it normal."
- Vague changes. The AI says 'payment terms were shortened' with no numbers. Try: Say: "One sentence per change with the exact numbers."
- Missing the fixed ending. The AI ends with a friendly offer to help. Try: Say: "The last line must be exactly: Next step: ..."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI runs long. Try: Say: "Each change one sentence under 25 words."
- Markdown. The AI bolds each change. Try: Say: "Plain text, no bold."
What a strong prompt includes
- Names Dana
- Subject and greeting
- Exact numbers
- No recommendation
- Fixed last line
