About this exercise

Write a weekly digest email to Camille Okafor, General Counsel. Plain text, under 150 words. Start with the line "Subject: Legal weekly digest - Nov 13", then three labeled lines in order: Matters:, Contracts:, Needs your decision:. Where sources disagree, use the one with the later date. If two sources disagree and have the same date, write the item as Unconfirmed and give both versions. Do not predict any outcome.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Older date used. The AI uses the tracker's Dec 8. Try: Say: "When sources disagree, use the later-dated one."
  • Tie guessed. The AI picks Jan 31 or Feb 28. Try: Say: "If same date and different, write Unconfirmed and give both."
  • Prediction repeated. The AI mentions a likely settlement. Try: Say: "Do not predict any outcome."
  • Structure missing. The AI writes paragraphs without the labels. Try: Say: "Subject line, then the three labels in order."
  • Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 15 words."
  • Markdown. The AI bolds words or adds headings. Try: Say: "Plain text, no bold, no headings."
