Turn meeting notes into a status update for the GC
- For Legal teams
- You practice Saying who it's for
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
Write a status update to Camille Okafor, General Counsel, from the meeting notes. Plain text, under 130 words, with exactly these four labeled lines in order: Status:, Decision needed from you:, Dates:, Open items:. Use the latest dates in the notes. Leave out opinions about how the matter will turn out.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Old date. The AI uses Nov 18. Try: Say: "Use the latest date when the notes change."
- Prediction included. The AI repeats the hope of winning. Try: Say: "No opinions on how it will turn out."
- Buried decision. The AI mixes the approval into a paragraph. Try: Say: "Put the decision under its own label with the deadline."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 15 words."
- Markdown. The AI bolds words or adds headings. Try: Say: "Plain text, no bold, no headings."
