About this exercise
Two internal documents disagree. Write a prompt for plain text with a CHECKLIST section of five lines starting "- [ ]" built only from the procedure, then a QUESTIONS FOR PRIVACY LEAD section with one question per conflict between the procedure and the FAQ. At most 8 bullets in total, each under 20 words. Do not say which document is right.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Blending the FAQ into the checklist. AI mixes 45 days or email-only verification into the checklist. Try: Say: "CHECKLIST follows the procedure only."
- Missing a conflict. AI lists one or two differences and skips review. Try: Say: "One question per conflict: verification, response time and review."
- Picking a winner. AI says the procedure is correct or the FAQ is outdated. Try: Say: "Do not say which document is right; ask the privacy lead."
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold, headings and bullets by default, which show up as stray symbols when pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
- Too many bullets. AI lists everything it finds instead of stopping at your limit. Try: Say "at most N bullets, nothing else" and name the limit.
What a strong prompt includes
