About this exercise

The committee chair opens the incident item aloud. Write a prompt for a spoken talk track in plain text, under 150 words, that names where two sources disagree and says both, rather than choosing one. Name no individuals. No jargon. The last line must read exactly: Questions for the committee: confirm the stop time, and agree who owns the partner follow-up.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Choosing one stop time. AI picks 08:51 or 09:05 silently. Try: Say: "The times differ; say both and do not pick one."
  • Naming the driver. AI includes the name at the top of the sheet. Try: Say: "Name no individuals."
  • Missing closing line. AI ends with its own summary. Try: Quote the exact last line in the prompt.
  • Getting markdown back. AI adds bold, headings and bullets by default, which show up as stray symbols when pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
  • Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and usually runs long, so a vague "keep it short" lands over the limit. Try: Cap each part instead of the total, for example "each line under 15 words".

What a strong prompt includes
